At the fourth annual Global Dairy Conference held April 27-29 in Salzburg, Austria, Clarinol CLA was recognized by dairy industry experts for its unique properties and innovative possibilities in dairy and beverage products.

Clarinol CLA won the IDF Dairy innovation Award for the best new ingredient for dairy food or beverage. Earlier the same month, Safflower Power Yogurt from Minnesota-based Old Home Foods, containing Clarinol CLA, was awarded in the International Innovation contest from the German magazine New Foods.

The Global Dairy Conference award program attracted over 170 entries from 29 countries in 12 categories and is designed to reward and champion innovation and excellence in the global diary industry. The global Dairy Conference itself covers a range of key issues including global market and consumer trends, social responsibility, innovation, health & emerging growth opportunities. The event is designed for industry leaders, supplier, customers, and analysts to gain a complete overview of the latest trends and developments globally.

“We are thrilled that Clarinol CLA won for Best New Ingredient for Dairy Foods or Beverages,” said John Kurstjens, Global Group Manager Marketing of Lipid Nutrition “Weight management is a key subject for dairy companies. With Clarinol CLA we offer a good scientific substantiated ingredient where dairy and beverage companies and brands have the opportunity to differentiate in the market with a ingredient whose health benefits resonate well with the consumer.”

Earlier in the same month of April, The International Innovation Contest of New Foods in Germany awarded Safflower Power Yogurt from Old Home Foods, which contains Clarinol CLA, first prize for Product Concept and Nutritional Value.

“We are extremely proud that Safflower Power Yogurt was selected from 131 entries from 16 countries in the New Foods Magazine Innovation Contest 2009,” said Geoff Murphy, CEO of Old Home Foods. “It further reinforces the fact that in today’s marketplace you have to differentiate your product and offer consumers value about what they really care about." Clarinol CLA is the original brand of CLA and is an exclusively licensed product of Lipid Nutrition B.V. CLA is a polyunsaturated, conjugated fatty acid that is a natural part of the human diet, found primarily in meat and dairy products. Lipid Nutrition produces Clarinol CLA through a proprietary process providing the highest quality of CLA and the highest concentration of the two active CLA isomers available.
