Starbucks Cheese

Starbucks has rolled out a new artisanal cheese box to 340 of its upscale coffee shops in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. The company partnered with celebrity chef Terrance Brennan to develop the box, which will include crackers, dried apricots, walnuts, aged Gouda, Vermont cheddar and blue cheese.

Saudi Milk in Demand

The Saudi milk market is expected to grow to $1 billion by the end of this year, an Arabic daily newspaper reported last month. The story referred to a study by Tetrpak which pegged total demand for milk as used in all products at about 870 million liters.

Euro Feta Fight

Denmark's dairy producers have lost their feta appeal in the European Court of Justice.

The legal adviser to the EU's top court recommended last month that a 2002 ruling stand that says Greece should have the exclusive right to call its cheese feta.

Head to Head

Florida-based Publix Super Markets next year will unveil its own version of a natural foods store called GreenWise. Publix added GreenWise departments to most of its 850 stores a few years ago, and says the stand-alone stores will cater to shoppers who prefer selections dominated by organics, and wellness products.
