Loma Systems Inc.

The IQ2 from Loma Systems Inc., has been engineered to offer greater reliability with fewer components. The company says too, that it is the first and only company to have been awarded a USDA Equipment Acceptance Certificate for metal detection equipment use in dairy facilities. The certificate has been issued for the company's IQ2 in-line metal detector and states that the equipment is in compliance with new ANSI/NSF/3-A 14159-1-2000 Hygiene Requirements for the Design of Meat and Poultry Processing Equipment. The new unit incorporates technological software advances that only require one chip to perform functions that formerly required seven. Multiple boards and separate power supply units have been eliminated with the power supply being integrated into one control board. Further, the IQ2 relies on a 32-bit microprocessor which results in faster data processing and enables easily-installed software upgrades-all contributing to a longer working life.

Lock Inspection Systems

The MET 30+ Pipeline system Lock Inspection Systems is ideal for liquid products, pumped and processed cheeses and curd products as it automatically detects and rejects metal contaminants from the product stream. For end-of-line inspection, Lock offers the MET 30+ 3f metal detector. Operating at three crystal-controlled frequencies, the unit automatically selects the optimum frequency for the application in hand. For butter wrapped in metallized film, for instance, it will operate at low frequency. The MET 30+ 3f is available with either the standard membrane keypad or a user-friendly touchscreen. Lock Inspection Systems guarantees the highest standard of metal detection for the dairy industry.

Loma Systems Inc.

Loma Systems' new generation of X3 X-ray equipment offers Loma's AutoTrack Technology, which enables multiple, upgraded inspection capabilities at a cost reduction of up to 40% when compared to previous versions and competitive models. The dual Pentium, Windows NT-based X3 takes X-ray inspection to new levels of analyses. In addition to finding contaminants and detecting missing or broken items and incorrectly filled packages, the X3 can analyze data at higher speeds, than ever before. And with optional Ethernet connections, modem diagnostics, one-touch help screens and improved operator interface features, system performance is maximized and product quality is assured and documented. The X3 vision system capability has been upgraded to enable the unit to examine different "zones" (as in a frozen dinner, for example), with different product densities. This identifies contaminants, underfilled and misfilled zones, missing items and/or broken items. AutoTrack Technology enables image capturing at up to 2,000 scans per second with analysis at 600 pieces per minute possible. The software also self-adjusts to accommodate for variations in the product.
