California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger last month passed into law two bills restricting certain foods and beverages sold in all public schools.

S.B.12 and S.B. 965 are designed to encourage healthier diets for California children. When the bills were first introduced, milk (flavored and unflavored) would have been restricted to 12-ounce serving sizes. IDFA member companies and in-state allies worked successfully with bill sponsors to exempt milk and other dairy products from any serving size restrictions.
