2010 Dairy Symposium scheduled July 11-12

The Wisconsin Dairy Products Association’s 2010 Dairy Symposium will be held July 11-12 at the Landmark Resort, Door County, Wis.

The Wisconsin Dairy Products Association’s 2010 Dairy Symposium will be held July 11-12 at the Landmark Resort, Door County, Wis.  The Dairy Symposium is a complete and comprehensive program focusing on issues impacting all dairy processors.  There are two solid days of value involving exceptional program speakers, entertaining social events, a golf outing, and the opportunity to network with leading dairy executives in an upscale, resort setting.

This year’s Dairy Symposium features stellar, cutting-edge seminars for all dairy interests. Confirmed speakers include James Green, Kemps LLC; Patty Stroup, Nestle; Ed Welch, AMPI; and Al Zolin, Zolin International LLC.

Representatives from leading dairy companies will be in attendance providing opportunities to network and interact with business peers in a relaxed setting.

There will also be fun-filled social events, including a spectacular Sunday night reception and banquet, and a golf outing at one of Door County’s premiere golf courses. 

The Dairy Symposium begins on Sunday, July 11, with a golf outing at The Orchards Golf Club at Egg Harbor.  The outing will utilize a scramble format to allow golfers of all abilities to have an enjoyable day.  Tee times will begin at 10 a.m. and lunch, drinks and prizes are included in the golf fee.

That evening, there will be a gala reception, followed by the Presidents Award dinner banquet.  The presentation of the 2010 WDPA Presidents Award will be the highlight of this evening.

The next day begins with a breakfast and the WDPA annual meeting.  Following that, the main educational program commences.

Sexed Semen Panel Discussion
Sexed semen is revolutionizing the dairy industry.  Hear a panel of experts who will explore this hot topic.  Panelists will focus on how sexed semen is affecting the U.S. dairy industry, how sexed semen works and what the future trends are.  They will also discuss the movement of milk in this country and how sexed semen will affect milk supplies and price volatility.

Bonus Session:  Understanding the Exchange Market

Peter Turk, Rice Dairy Executive Roundtable on Dairy Markets 
A stellar panel of dairy executives have been brought together to discuss today’s dairy markets.  They will share their views on how national and global economies are affecting their companies and how they are dealing with the challenges of these recessionary times.  A discussion of how these companies are maintaining their competitiveness and how they are positioning themselves for future growth will round out this thought-provoking session.
