David Phillips

As editor of Dairy Foods Magazine, David Phillips compiles and edits the News & Trends section of Dairy Foodsand contributes features to other sections.

Phillips joined Dairy Foods as news editor after more than ten years covering community news in south Florida, Chicago and rural Illinois.

A Florida native, he has a bachelor's degree in communications from Loyola University, Chicago, and makes his home in Chicago.

DONNA BERRY
Donna Berry

Senior Editor Donna Berry applies her expertise in dairyfoods product development in each month's Ingredient Technology feature.

Her experience also extends to new products and marketing. Donna reviews dairy product introductions in the monthly New Product Review section. She then mixes in trend analysis in the New Product Closeup, a profile of a single new product with a look at its category and how it was marketed.

Donna uses her Lab Talk column as a vehicle for sharing her product developer's insight. Prior to joining Dairy Foods as Technical Editor in 1993, Donna specialized in product development of natural and specialty cheeses at Kraft Foods.

Before Kraft, she worked at Best Foods in quality assurance, and at the Edlong Corp. as a sensory and applications technician. She holds a B.S. in food science from the University of Illinois. She is an active member of the Institute of Food Technologists and frequently speaks at industry events.

JERRY DRYER
Jerry Dryer

Market analyst Jerry Dryer writes the monthly Marketing Insights column, in which he analyzes an industry issue or product category each month.

His particular emphasis is on emerging opportunities for dairy processors. With more than 25 years of dairy industry experience, he is president of Dairy & Food Market Analyst.

His Chicago forecasting and consulting firm offers strategic and long-range business and marketing planning services, including market research and new product conceptualiz-ation. Earlier, Jerry was an associate publisher/editor of Dairy Foods magazine, Dairy Foods Newsletter and Cheese Market News.
