Dairy brands look ahead to the Feb. 6 NFL Super Bowl in their Jan. 23 free-standing inserts. Kraft promotes its natural cheese cubes and Cracker Cuts slices “for the Big Game.” Under the headline “No roughing the passer,” the cheese giant promotes its shredded mild Cheddar product along with Breakstone’s sour cream. The FSI instructs readers to “Steal a page from a winning playbook at KraftRecipes.com”.

Dean’s promotes its French onion dip with the headline “Game on! Bring the ultimate dip to the ultimate game.” Kraft’s Velveeta brand teams with ConAgra’s Ro-tel diced tomatoes and green chilies to a queso dip. “Kick up kick-off” states the headline.

Land O Lakes promotes its own cheese dip using its premium deli American cheese. Its FSI features a web address and Facebook and Twitter icons.

Foods for healthy living

Health and wellness receive their due this week, too. Kozy Shack promotes its no-sugar-added pudding and directs readers to “Wear Red on February 4th!” a campaign by the American Heart Association to raise awareness of women’s heart health.

The Dannon Co. associates its yogurts with a healthy lifestyle and announces a sweepstakes awarding three grand prizes of free groceries for a year (in the form of $7,800 retailer gift cards). Shoppers enter UPCs from yogurt packages online at Dannon.com. Safeway’s Dominick’s supermarket chain share an FSI featuring Dannon’s Activia, DanActive and Light & Fit four-packs. Supermarket loyalty cardholders receive a $1 coupon.

Weight-loss promoter Nutrisystem pictures its Fudge Swirl Sundae ice cream on its FSI.

Separate FSIs by Abbott Nutrition promote Ensure (for adults) and PediaSure and new Sidekicks (for children), nutritional beverages containing milk ingredients. PediaSure offers a rebate for a free six-pack SKU of PediaSure or four-pack SKU of Sidekicks. Ensure offers a coupon for a free SKU with purchase of two four-packs.
