Glanbia Foods Inc., continues to expanding its cheese-production operations in Gooding, Idaho, and has just completed a smaller expansion at its headquarter plant in Twin Falls, Idaho.

In Gooding, Glanbia is adding two new vats, and expanding downstream equipment to increase production capacity by 20%. Once this expansion is completed, Glanbia’s Gooding cheese factory will manufacture approximately 900,000 pounds of cheese every day.

The Twin Falls plant is adding an ultra-filtration system to process milk from 1,500 more cows and will produce an additional 100,000 pounds of cheese every week.

“There continues to be a tremendous demand for quality-produced barrel cheese from our customer base,” said Jeff Williams, pres./CEO with Glanbia. “The expansion at both of these facilities will allow us to work toward meeting this extra demand.”

The $13 million dollar expansion in Gooding began in late May and will be completed in May 2006. Twin Falls’s $280,000 project was completed in May.
