Elopak Inc., has recently introduced Elo-Cap UP, a new screw cap for gabletops that provides consumers with an extra measure of protection. It has a second tamper-evident feature--a pull-ring inside to break the interior seal after the cap is removed--as well as the standard band on the outside. The new cap is a cost-effective alternative for standard cross-section and half-gallon gable-top cartons. It is expected to be very popular for juice, water and extended shelf-life products, as well as dairy products. The caps are available in eight colors. Like Elopak's other caps, Elo-Cap UP is leak-tight and easy to pour. Existing cap applicators can be retrofitted, if necessary, with simple change parts. Elopak's new carton filling machines also accept these parts easily. The applicators ultrasonically weld the cap flanges to the carton.
